WEALTH MANAGEMENT IN SEATTLE FOR FAMILIES, PROFESSIONALS, AND BUSINESS OWNERS

Your family CFO in the Seattle area.

LRVS Advisory Group works with people whose wealth has outgrown ordinary planning. From our Bellevue office we advise families, professionals, and business owners across the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest. You are past wondering whether you will be all right. What is left is harder and quieter: how much of this survives the transfer, what your children will be ready for, and what you want the money to have done while you were here to watch it.

We want it to grow and to end up where you mean it to. And you should be able to stop carrying it.

Financial Advisors for Seattle Area Families, Executives, Business Owners, and Retirees

Families Passing Wealth On

“We had trusts drawn up years ago and have not looked at them since. Is any of it still right?”

Probably not all of it. Each piece was set up correctly, for a family at an earlier stage. We put the documents and the accounts side by side, find where they disagree, and work with your attorney until they say what you mean. Then we plan the transfer itself, including what goes to your children while you are here to watch it land.

Technology Professionals

“Most of what I own is my company’s stock. Should that worry me?”

It is common here. What makes it risky is leaving it to chance. We tell you how much of your household depends on one employer, decide with you how much of it belongs in your plan, and set the pace for selling the rest.

Corporate Executives

Corporate Executives

“My pay changes every year. How do I plan around a number I cannot predict?”

By deciding the rules before the number arrives. We set what happens to the equity, the deferred pay, and the tax year in advance, so a good year does not turn into an expensive spring.

Business Owners

“Almost everything I have is in the business. What happens to my family when I step away?”

You see the answer before you decide anything. We work through what a sale would mean for your finances, what your balance sheet looks like without the business, and what to do with the money a sale puts in your hands all at once.

Pre-Retirees and Retirees

“Can I stop when I want to, and will the money last?”

Those are two questions and we answer both. We work out what you can draw and for how long, then set up the retirement income so it comes from the right accounts in the right order, which is where most of the tax is won or lost.

Concentrated Stock, Equity Compensation, Business Exits, and Washington’s Taxes

Most wealth management stops at the investments. Everything here runs on one process, the LRVS Financial Planning Approach.

  • One company’s stock has become most of what you own. We bring it down on a schedule we set with you, not a hunch.

  • Part of your pay arrives as shares. We decide with you what to sell and when, ahead of your employer’s deadlines.

  • You are thinking about selling the business. We put the numbers in front of you first.

  • Washington taxes large gains and estates. We plan for both years ahead.

  • You want it to reach your children as you intend. We work with your attorney until the documents say so.

Your attorney and your accountant keep their seats, and work from the same plan we do.

About LRVS Advisory Group, an Independent Wealth Management Firm

LRVS Advisory Group is a national wealth management practice. We started in the Boston area, helping busy professionals and families put their whole financial picture in one place, and we grew because clients told other people about us. That brought advisors to other parts of the country, including the Pacific Northwest. Every family gets the close, personal attention you would expect from a smaller firm.

A team stands behind our clients, so your plan does not rest on one person. We are independent, so the advice is not built around a product line. And we bring in the accountants, estate attorneys, and other professionals a plan like yours needs. If you already have them, they keep their seats.

The longer we work together, the less you have to explain. We carry the history, so you do not have to tell it again.

He started at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a risk management examiner, spent the years after that at Fidelity Investments, and became the advisor his region sent the complicated cases to. He lives in Issaquah.

Before any of this he taught and guided in the mountains, and he still describes the work the same way: helping people move through complicated terrain with good judgment and a plan.

Case Study: Wealth Transfer for a Seattle Area Family

A partner-level artificial intelligence engineer at a large technology company came to us financially independent and still working, with most of the family’s wealth in that company’s stock and property held in several states.

Washington’s estate tax reaches a family like this long before the federal one does, and the rules for a non-citizen spouse remove a protection most couples take for granted. We built the transfer plan around both.

Questions People Ask Before Choosing a Wealth Manager

Ask four things. Is the firm independent, or does it answer to a product line? How is the advisor paid? Will one person see your whole picture, or only the part they sell? And when something complicated comes up, does the firm handle it or refer it out?

In practice it is scope. Advice on your investments is one service. Wealth management, the way we do it, means running the investments, the tax planning, the estate coordination, and the equity or business decisions as one plan.

There is more than you would expect. Washington taxes large capital gains and it taxes estates, separately from the federal government, and both reach families here earlier than people assume. We plan for both well before they land.

Financial planning at LRVS is typically a flat annual fee, and investment management is charged on a tiered schedule based on the assets we manage for you. The full cost is explained at the first meeting, before you decide anything.

It depends on which kind of 457(b) you have. A governmental 457(b) can usually be rolled into an IRA or a new employer’s plan. The nongovernmental plans many hospital systems offer cannot, and the balance is often paid out on the schedule the plan sets, sometimes as a lump sum in a single tax year. Reviewing the plan document before you resign, with your LRVS advisor, keeps the timing yours.

Let’s Start the Conversation

It starts with one conversation. There is nothing to prepare and nothing to decide that day. We talk about what you have built, what you want it to do, and whether we are the right firm to help you do it.

Meetings happen at the Bellevue office or over video, whichever works for you.
